This year staying in is the new going out. The menu prices are cheaper, the wine pours tend to be heavier (oops), and the playlist is entirely unmatched. Plus I just find that spending an afternoon in the kitchen clears my head like nothing else. ps : if you’re wondering “where is the completed dish?” – we ended up cooking and eating these lovely raviolis for dinner and then hours later I sat straight up and said “oh my god we forgot to film the ending”. Last month, when I was putting together my recap of 2024 I thought of this quote again. Because truly, when I combed through my camera roll, I was struck by just how beautiful the moments and laughter and experiences were to me vs any material object. Moving forward into the new year, I want to keep this in the forefront of my mind. It’s so easy (and I’m of course guilty of this) to fall in love with the idea of objects and things being a source of joy.
