My fiancè Matt used @roadwaymoving to move him from NYC to LA and has only ever used them since. So glad I inherited them as part of the deal now! Moving is stressful… Unless you have them on your side! Thank you so much for getting us settled so quickly in our new home 🤍#roadwaymoving
The 1st of our #sundaysupportseries : a space offering an open conversation with and for Angelenos, about how to process what’s happening in our city and to ourselves as a result. Today was a talk with trauma specialist Dr. Danyale McCurdy McKinnon who provided insights into PTSD and trauma responses, provided practical tools for how to process this crisis, how to know when to seek help and how to talk to/support those impacted by the LA Wildfires. Dr.Danyale wants you to remember “action is the opposite of avoidance” and to not feel guilty about self care in these times. You can find more information about Dr. Danyale’s practice https://dmmeatingdisordersclinic.com/ and follow along with her new podcast @barenakedshrinks. **I will post the links to the DBT, and practical tools info she shared in my stories. See you next week for #sundaysupportseries

#sundaysupportseries with @repairing_the_nervous_system! For those who tuned in you know why this is a picture of our session and not the full conversation. Jessica Maguire, nervous system regulation and vagus nerve expert gave us such incredible insight today and took us through an impromptu regulating exercise that made me quite emotional and will stay in that space for that reason. That was the first time I have cried for our city, and for all of you who have lost so much. I wasn’t expecting to but it makes sense that with Jessica’s guidance of connecting to my body and being present with myself, it all hit me. I’m so grateful you lended us your expertise today @repairing_the_nervous_system and hope you all reach out to Jessica for further information on how to equip yourself with tools to help you through this difficult time. Leaving you with my favorite quote from today : “The best gift you can give to others, and certainly a community in distress and grief, is your own regulated presence.”
