Today is my darling sister, Lorna Luft’s birthday. If you’d like to send birthday wishes yourself, please pop over to @lornaluftofficial. I love my wonderful sister and miss her every single day that we’re not together. I’m so proud of you, Lorna… courageous, talented, absolutely fabulous, always. Thank you for saving my life. Happy birthday, baby! 🎂❤️✨
Hey Kids, This picture is of me yet, not at all about me… it tells a universal story that needs no explanation. Let’s back up. Like everyone I know, our hearts are shattered over the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner. When violence and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) collide, the devastation reaches far beyond one moment, one person, one family. SUD is not a moral failure, it’s a dangerous illness. We are all grieving. We are all feeling this great loss. The gut-wrenching question is: Could this tragedy have been prevented? Could these precious, sweet, genius lives been saved? I fear we will never have absolute answers. Silence only weakens the soul and deepens the harm. I stayed quiet about my own SUD battles for far too long. I believed shame was safer. It wasn’t. That’s why I wrote Kids Wait Till You Hear This, which will be published in March 2026, to tell the truth, to share chaos, destruction and death can happen to anyone, everyone, and to remind us that recovery is possible. You or someone you love is struggling with SUD. And you know that is true. Please also know, you are not alone. Asking for help is strength not weakness. We owe it to each person in the battle… to each person we’ve lost… we owe it to ourselves and each other to get well before… Reach out today… before it’s too late. Join me tonight in praying for the Reiner family. God knows they need it. I love you all.

Hey Kids, On Friday, I shared a message with you from my heart about the crisis of SUD, which is clearly involved in the tragic deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner. I didn’t clearly address the correlation between mental health and SUD, perhaps because, to me, it is obvious. This disease has impacted our family since before I was born. And it never goes away. I’m grateful to each of you who heard me and reached out. I’m also grateful to my friend Oprah Winfrey @OprahDaily for naming “Kids, Wait Till You Hear This” as one of the Most Anticipated Books of 2026. I love Oprah, and I thank her. I believe Oprah gets it. She didn’t choose the book because of my celebrity or talent. I believe the book is resonating because it’s raw and honest. To those who felt the timing was off or the message tone-deaf? I disagree. I’ve never been exploitative of any situation or anyone. Not my style. What is my style? Telling the truth, even when it makes people uncomfortable. Because here it is: SUD, mental health, and trauma, on every scale, are usually interwoven. That’s not drama. That’s not clickbait. Here are the facts: According to the NCADD, nearly 3 million violent crimes each year involve offenders perceived to be drinking, about half of all homicides and assaults involve alcohol. Nearly 80% of offenses leading to incarceration involve alcohol or drugs. Alcohol plays a role in about 40% of violent crimes, and among victims of domestic violence, alcohol is involved in 55% of cases. Globally, over a billion people are impacted by Substance Use Disorder. People are dying every day. Too few of us are speaking out. I cannot, and I will not, sit in shame and silence. Our beloved mother died far too early. Mama was amazing, brilliant, funny, and talented to the level of genius. However, Mama didn’t get to grow old and kiss her Grandkids. Last week, I was with my sister @lornaluftofficial and her daughter Vanessa @vanziipper, one of Mama’s beautiful Grandchildren. As Vanessa now picks up the torch for our family, she brings Mama’s light to you. And I, after almost 80 years, am opening my heart to share how our family and you can battle this disease and live in recovery. I love you.

Hey My Loves, Today is World AIDS Day, which arrives with equal measures of heartbreak and hope. Fortunately, medical advances have made normal lives possible for people who have the resources to pay for and access the required medications. Tragically, cuts to the CDC’s Division of HIV Prevention will lead to dramatic rises in infections, deaths, and costs. This doesn’t have to happen. Here, I am delivering a check to The Foundation for AIDS Research, formerly known as @amfAR, singing a song, and knowing there is still so much more work to be done. We cannot honor World AIDS Day without paying tribute to my dear friend Dame Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth was the first globally recognized celebrity HIV/AIDS activist, relentlessly pursuing an AIDS-free world before starting the @ElizabethTaylorAIDSFoundation. I love Elizabeth for a million reasons, and this is surely one of the most special. In these images, you’ll see Elizabeth and me raising funds for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and the two of us with Rock Hudson before his diagnosis became public. Dear God, Elizabeth and I loved Rock so much. Please consider giving what you can to support of the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Oh, my darlings – I just have to say – my beloved sister Lorna’s daughter, my beautiful niece Vanessa, is carrying that great, glittering family torch right into the future! And her handsome brother – my darling nephew Jesse – will be right alongside her! Vanessa’s been working her heart out, launching @judygarlandestate across all the social media whatnots – which, believe me, is not my territory, sweetheart. (I can barely find the camera button!) Vanessa has done it all with such grace and exquisite taste. It’s her labor of love, truly – and oh, honey, I’m just bursting with pride. Mama would be so proud of you Vanessa – and of your brother, too! Brava Vanessa! Bravo Jesse! 📸: @culturescurrent_
Christmas Eve is a precious, beautiful, celebratory time for millions of people. It’s important to realize that some of us, amidst all the holiday cheer and celebration, are fighting to chase the blues away. It’s Christmas… aren’t ya happy? Nope. Everybody isn’t. So let’s reach out to those we haven’t heard from, those who are struggling, and lift them up. Whether it’s a meal, a hug, a call, or a text… let people you love know that you’re with them, especially if they’re having a tough time. And if you haven’t heard from someone, initiate. Let’s embrace them. No matter the season, everybody needs to feel loved. And I sure love you. Merry Christmas.

Hey Kids, Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for my loved ones, my friends and of course, each of you. Love, Liza
This year, there are so many presents under my proverbial tree, and my stocking is stuffed. The love of my family, my friends, and those of you who are sweet enough to connect with me here. I’m learning how to follow you and send messages to you. That makes me very happy. For those of you who have asked, my book is being published in over 42 countries. And you made it possible for there to be a bidding war in the UK. Here is the news about that. This Christmas, I am busy signing copies for you, recording the audiobook, and contemplating appearances to see you in person. 2026 is going to be spectacular. I love you. God bless you.
