She was telling me her story – her experiences, her challenges and shortcomings
Lisa tells us her story from the beginning and writes beautifully. I was captivated by the writing.
Words like these had me highlighting parts furiously “Life is hard, alienation trains you to values connection, pain is a great teacher. And sadness is the precondition to a tender heart “
She journeys through many lands, many roles. Highlights her time as a model and then in Bollywood. How she chanced upon the love of her life and how her mother’s illness changed her. How it metamorphosed her relationship with her own father .
She also details her own unique illness and how she dealt with it- brave brave woman !
Lisa is brutally honest about facts about her eating disorder and the obsession to be skinny. I admire her sharing this and do hope it will inspire many others to be comfortable in their own skin.
The book itself is a great read and will leave you mulling over a lot !
