Mela Murder Instagram - I wrote the song MOTHER for my daughter Amethyst as she grew in my womb. For me as a woman transitioning to mother and all that I’ve experienced with my body, my relationship with my body my priorities my sense of self beyond my body is truly a symbolism of my own rebirth. Mela Murder Instagram - when I was most tired and felt most defeated as a single mother I longed for community i could be brutally honest with about my experiences as a single mother. That space didn’t exist so I decided to create it. In my journey of creating @letstalkmother I was connected with warrior women! Women who wear many hats play many roles hands extremely full ! we are the back bone and the foundation of our tribes, we do it all we do it all we do it all mostly on our own. I created @letstalkmother for single mothers to have a moment to exhale. Im sharing it with the world To shine light on the emotional and mental health crisis within the single mother community. We need more resources ! It’s time to step up and do more for single mothers. It’s time our voices are heard. It’s time to refocus the attention and CONVERSATION on wellness unity help support of each other and ourselves And not feel ashamed for it. #LETSTALKMOTHER NYC 2018 New York, New York

Mela Murder Instagram - My first dance workshop in 6 years ! First workshop sober first workshop as a mom. I broke down crying in the cab to the studio, I felt triggered to drink .. drinking was my way of coping with anxiety before getting in front of a room filled with strangers expecting you to deliver some hot shit 😂 I never really connected with anyone who came out to support me. I REALLY wanted to connect with each individual that left their home to share space with me. My vision when creating the approach for this was to give the tribe a glimpse into my healing journey. I named the work shop SURRENDER. first hour was SHADOW second was HIGHER. Feeling safe is always my main priority when gathering. Working through the initial guards up to be fully present in our bodies but mindful and respectful of everyone else. vulnerability is not easy. I gained more then I thought I would. All I have are my feelings that’s it I have nothing more to say other then THANK YOU! In 2016 when I was pregnant with my Amethyst I never anticipated being a single mother. Ever. I was terrified of being left with the sole responsibility of caring and providing for a child, I didn’t think I had that kind of power and resilience in me and as each month passed and eventually my girl was born and how deeply and beautifully her existence impacted my life completely for the better as gratifying and profound and meaningful our connection is. I still felt the burden of sadness from the reality of single motherhood I felt so alone and so isolated. I knew I needed village I looked for resources and there was none. I knew if I wanted this space of safety I would need to create it. So I did and here we are. This is what the power of activated action and love looks like. We did this!
