4 years sober soon. Whenever I reflect on my sobriety i always think of Mac. I still can’t believe addiction took him from us. I wish it hadn’t. I wish he were still here, his overdose keeps sobriety into perspective when I’m really struggling with relapse triggers. Life is precious and worth being healthy and present for. That fact doesn’t always compensate the reality of Life not being easy to exist in and understand. I do think it’s natural to desire escapism when the intensity of life feels unbearable. But poisoning ourselves for the sake of not feeling isn’t the answer.. who knows what the future holds for me as far as my relationship with alcohol goes.. i do miss drinking I don’t miss the blacks outs or the chaos or shame that always came with it. I really do romanticize the idea of me working up the tolerance and self control to drink responsibly Im also completely aware those thoughts are delusional I’ll never be a responsible drinker I wasn’t meant to be . I’m an addict in active sobriety and I hope I’m able to keep choosing this. I hope!

What a traumatizing month October 2023 has been so immensely painful so disturbing and horrific the events that unfolded this month has changed me forever our descendants will learn about the horrors of what we witnessed in school these moments will be in text books depending on American historical repetition they’ll try to erase what happened same way they did with my Taino ancestors genocide or they’ll rewrite it to make it seem the oppressor was oppressed and the terrorist the hero like Christopher Columbus! WE won’t let that happen! as this month ends I think of every child who’s life was lost whos world was shattered whos family was broken whos body was harmed I think about how no child deserves to be at the receiving end of such evil children deserve safety and love! I think about how this world filled with hateful adults can bring the global collective to such lows put our people through such suffering and fail our babies this way I think of those on soil fighting for lives of all victims of oppression and genocide and how nothing significant can come from it who the fuck cares if McDonald stocks go down if babies are still dying? Im devastated I am heart broken I’ve cried so much this month I’ve had nightmares like never before I’ve hugged my babies tighter I’ve realized my privilege and the power in using proactively I’ve been deeper in the state of gratitude while also in the same depth of grief I’ve seen peoples true colors this month I see how selfish the world actually is and not just appears to be. I learned that all I want to do is show up authentically in LOVE! And be the best sister to all of you I can be. May the lessons of this month teach you the truth of the world and may you move with love and compassion may you activate your courage to SPEAK UP! Free Palestine Free Sudan Free Congo.

Every time I come back home I’m reminded of what real wealth happiness and peace is . I see it and feel it everywhere, without force. it’s abundance that only Creator, Mother Earth can create and provide. It’s the fact that I am effortlessly aware and connected to it that makes it so potent and alive in my spirit. my mind goes quiet often here (which is rare) especially in these waters. Perfect Peace. I can’t explain the beauty and magic that exists here, you just have to come experience it for yourself to get it. i can’t say enough how grateful I am that my blood is of the blood of my Boriken ancestors , what a blessing it is to be Borikua!how grateful I am this paradise is my motherland. 🇵🇷🌞🌺 Borikén

My first dance workshop in 6 years ! First workshop sober first workshop as a mom. I broke down crying in the cab to the studio, I felt triggered to drink .. drinking was my way of coping with anxiety before getting in front of a room filled with strangers expecting you to deliver some hot shit 😂 I never really connected with anyone who came out to support me. I REALLY wanted to connect with each individual that left their home to share space with me. My vision when creating the approach for this was to give the tribe a glimpse into my healing journey. I named the work shop SURRENDER. first hour was SHADOW second was HIGHER. Feeling safe is always my main priority when gathering. Working through the initial guards up to be fully present in our bodies but mindful and respectful of everyone else. vulnerability is not easy. I gained more then I thought I would. All I have are my feelings that’s it I have nothing more to say other then THANK YOU! And that The next one is already in the works
My favorite song by @originalsaso @dosflakos called SAZON ❤️🔥 London, United Kingdom
