So long Beckie-boo. My favorite bad stage kiss partner, fellow reporter in 1000 sketches, male voiceover counterpart, husband to the amazing and wonderful Jessy, and so much more. One of the best “straight” guys the show has ever had but also one of the greatest weirdest and wackiest character actor. It’s hard to find pictures and videos of all my favorite moments when there are just so so many favorite moments. Here are just some I could find easily on my phone. *One that is not pictured here is when Leslie rehearsed her first sketch I think and full on punched Beck in the stomach instead of a stage punch. And Beck took it so well I’m still laughing about it without feeling tooooo bad. Thank you for making snl so much better as a show and a job and a place and a home @beckbennett

Poster’s done so now all that’s left is learning the whole show 😬👽
(I’M VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS @silverleigh @theshedny )
SNL’s design departments are unreal. That wig was a big deal because she had to be period but also sexy and messy and have movement because it’s Liz for crying out loud! But my favorite thing about this sketch is that the first joke is an homage to Xena Live at the About Face theater in Chicago starring Elizabeth Laidlaw and Alexandra Billings which i think I maybe saw in 1999 or 2000? Alexandra Billings played Katharine Hepburn in a running commercial gag and wow I loved it so much and it is something i have quoted now for I guess 85 years or however long it’s been since 1999 (WhuTheFuuuuu?!?) Up there with Jerri Blank and Sheila Albertson in blowing my teenaged brain wide open.
This was a hard hitting q&a and I’m shooked
What a fun weird energy week. I say weird as one of my few holy words. Loving our brilliant new cast and there will be so much more to see from them to make ya scream and cream. Loved this cut for time sketch written by Kent Sublette, Anna Drezen, and Vanessa Jackson (and Rami Malek if you’ve heard of him- new snl writer). I pitched one joke in this (duh it involves Goonies) and really just got to have fun with a wonderfully game and bizarre host. And play with my favorites Melissy-poo and Mikey. Then next is Heidi’s brilliant sketch because she’s a freaking genius for real. Same with Bowen who OWNED this show and we all owe him rent. The only picture missing here is Ego because her cut for time sketch will probably come back and how dare I ruin that for any of you. Sorry if I’ve missed anything or sound more cuckoo than usual. Very tired from some dumbass COLD knocking me out the past two shows because my life has been lived for two years trying to prepare for Covid, not the damn cold. So the common cold moved his ass on in, brought friends, and knows about the moratorium on evictions in nyc. So who knows how long this will last.

It will be some time before I fully process this thing. I know this, though, today, for sure:
I love live theater, especially in New York City.
Leigh Silverman is a genius and captain like no other and absolutely fits in on my Mt Rushmore with Jane Wagner and Lily Tomlin
Justin (Joanne) Scribner is the greatest dancing partner which is a job some people call stage manager.
Chris(tine) and Joanna are the best bubblemates I could ask for, and my favorite revelation of the show was Joanna (very Long Island) saying- “you know I was up late last night and I kept thinking- Fuck Bob. He’s a fucking phony”
And I really truly know what it feels like, as I think Kafka wrote, to have been filled with a sense of endless astonishment simply at seeing a group of people cheerfully assembled.
And all this even though it had begun to rain.

Finally dipping my toes in the vacation game again. I’m generally what we’d call a “big time wuss” and don’t do a lot of things because of that, but I went snorkeling in the Mediterranean while touring the Calanques. I even swam into “the blue hole”! Thank you to Bleu Evasion and our fantastic knowledgeable and very funny guide Nico. There are four other Nico’s, so make sure you ask for him by his nickname- “Nico-tine”. And no, that last photo isn’t photoshopped #SuperModellsOfInstergram #LeonardDiCarpio

Just a little bit of the wonderful NY1 interview about “Search…” with my captain oh captain @silverleigh and Frank DiLella!!!
