Happy birthday to the hardest working, most brilliant, humble person, the embodiment of Woman, Life, Freedom: Roya Boroumand. Roya @iranrights has been fighting tirelessly for decades & never, ever tries to take credit or bring attention to herself for anything. Today, @unitednations Human Rights Council decided to create a new fact-finding mission to investigate “alleged Human Rights Violations in the Islamic Republic of Iran related to the protests that began on 16 September 2022.” 25 states voted in favor, 6 voted no. This is a major turning point for the world, all thanks to Roya, Ladan, Gissou, all human rights organizations, lawyers, and defenders who have been working nonstop towards this for almost two generations. I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you all today, but this is the beginning of many celebrations for a #FreeIran.
