It’s amazing when I run into my future wife! Nice to see you, @missmayim ! I’m not sure what kind of time warp/time travel this is, but it was fun!
And here is the whole reason I went to NYC! It’s one of my favorite places to go in the autumn, so I’m always looking for an excuse to get there. When I heard that @therealjimparsons was appearing on stage in @classicstage ‘s production of Man of No Importance, I knew I had to get there. I ended up sitting in the front row for a preview performance and it was so, so, so great! Jim is astonishing and he’s surrounded by an incredible cast. Honestly, I want to go back and see it all again! Have you seen it? Will you get to? Please let me know! Jim plays Alfie, a theatre loving bus conductor in Dublin in 1964 in this musical. And we watch as he wrestles with his faith, his beliefs and his judgements. It’s sweet and simple and powerful, and you’ve never seen Jim Parsons in a role like this. I feel so lucky and happy that i got to go! “You just have to love who you love.” – Alfie. Also, I was so happy to see Jim again!!!
And speaking of people who have been kind to me since I was very small- here is @lin_manuel ! I ran into him at a show recently. I think I summoned him because i had just been talking about him and then he was there! Yesterday was the 8th anniversary of @hamiltonmusical and I’m grateful for that show, but more than that, I’m grateful for this man. He has always been so welcoming to me, so nice. I will see everything he does always and will admire him forever. I just love it when people make the world a better place!
I’m reflecting on what a wonderful Thanksgiving this has been. First we had our traditional family Thanksgiving in Baltimore. There were some relatives there that I haven’t seen for three years so it was an extra special gathering. Then, I had a second Thanksgiving thanks to my Rabia Auntie. Of all the things i am grateful for- and there are so many- I was most grateful to meet this man. You might have heard of Adnan Syed, but what you don’t know- because you haven’t gotten a chance to know- is what an incredible person he is. A lot of people who have been through what he has been through might become very rough, but he has stayed kind. As soon as I left, I kept asking about when we could meet again. “Is tomorrow too soon?” I was so honored to be there for Adnan’s first free Thanksgiving in 23 years, and I was also honored to meet his mama. That’s her in the last picture. For those of you who have read #fattyfattyboomboom let me just confirm that Rabia and her wonderful sister Lilly are experts in the kitchen- the food was incredible and so was their family. And Baby Man is as cute as you imagined. Thank you, Rabia Auntie! ❤️

I had a GREAT time at the @sandiegozoo !! The animals were so sweet, and we had an incredible guide who showed us many of the secrets of the zoo! I went there once before when I was 4 years old, but I won’t wait so long to return. I can’t begin to figure out who my favorite animal was- there are so many contenders!

If you’ve followed me here for a bit you know that I see shows whenever I can. Being in a theatre is one of my very favorite places to be. In April I got to see @goodnightoscar starring @seanhayes. I was looking forward to seeing it because I missed the opportunity to see it in Chicago by a day. I knew nothing about the play and had no idea what I was in for. I’ve always been reluctant to say that I have a favorite performance. It makes me feel the way a parent must feel when they are asked which is their favorite child, but Goodnight Oscar is special. I saw it in April and I saw it again this week. I will definitely be returning before it closes. Go see it!!! Sean Hayes gives an incredible performance and I was so happy to discover that he is a wonderful person as well!! I don’t know how he does what he does in this production. Goodnight, Oscar does what theatre can do: it changed my life!

Wishing a very happy @survivorcbs 43 season finale, and a happy holiday, to Mr. @jeffprobst!’
Adnan is free! And my shirt just arrived. What a wonderful thing, to know that he is out and that real justice is on the way! #wefreedadnan #freeadnan
Yesterday we gathered with some people I love so much and am grateful for to celebrate the life of someone I loved so much and am grateful for. The lighting was perfect. ❤️love you, Monsieur JMV
It’s fun to work on the Warner Brothers Lot because you never know who you are going to run into- but LOOK WHO I RAN INTO!!! She wasn’t carrying her recent Tony Award, but I was so excited about this moment! I used to sneak backstage at The Ellen Show to meet some of her guests- I plan to do the same here- especially if there are lots of theatre guests!!
I got to see a screening of the almost-finished Scoob: Holiday Haunt. I had the honor of playing Shaggy in this, and it has sadly been shelved for complicated reasons having nothing to do with the integrity of the movie. I’m so glad I got to see it and hope one day there is a Christmas miracle and you can see it too! In theatre, the audience is always the final, crucial ingredient, and i think it’s true in film as well. This movie wasn’t created so it can sit on a shelf, it was made to be enjoyed! Whatever happens, I’m so glad I got to meet so many great people who were involved with this wonderful project- and I’m thrilled they let me see what they’ve done so far!
This was wonderful! This week I got to hang out with @thelivingmichaeljackson ! He wrote @strangeloopbway and that’s a show that astonished me. I can’t wait to see everything he ever does, and I hope to see him again soon! Thanks for a great day!
I got to run into @squigsrobertson in Times Square!!! He’s one of the hardest working, kindest people I know and I love his @lightsofbroadwayshowcards !!
