Last night, a guest of @thekennyloggins – his final shows of a stellar 55 career.
So surreal. Was often moved, thinking back to when I was a kid in comedy, and this music master took me on tour w/him, back when communication was pen/paper/pay phones, and high tech was a smoke machine!
I suddenly went from playing smoky clubs (yes kids, REAL stink-smoke, not vape), traveling w/a crew & band, a huge departure from the solo destination dash of a standup comic.
A tour manager, and a group of guys to play with, try out material. When we hit the Neil Simon Theatre, a band member became ill, Kenny asked me to learn the bass notes over dinner, and I sang backup for a week on Broadway! Crazy…
Amazing concert last night, w/all the hits. Such a prolific writer, gifted vocalist.
I believe he belongs in the songwriters Hall of Fame. Countless hit songs. Google it. There are 80s soundtrack hits like, “I’m Alright,” and “Footloose,” but much more. Celebrate Me Home was ethereal astounding last night.

6 wks ago we rescued Buffy from a local shelter. She was in there for several months, longest of any dog. Can’t imagine the PTSD an animal must have, when locked in a cement cage, surrounded by 24/7 barking. We were there for an hour and it drove me insane. I would have spilled secrets to the enemies if I had to be there longer!
Buffy bonded w/me & my younger kids, Jackson & Chloe, as if we were meant to be a family all along, apparently scripted by a love/light source/force of magnificent destiny. In other words – she licks, then sticks, now part of the Shoemaker mix.
Considering the upheaval me & the children have been forced to manage, I’m not sure if it’s Buffy or us who was rescued.
This pic was taken just now, me reclined, doing some work one-handed, the other extending TLC to our sweet, beautiful girl.
Now, I just need someone to rub MY belly!

Our first Halloween with Buffy, our new rescue dog. Left her alone while we hit the streets. Well, Buffy decided to go on her own trick-or-treat, pulling down any food items she could grab from the counter, including my protein powder, which made our home and her entire head look like the last scene from Scarface.
This before pic should have warned me. That’s the look of a coke animal about to go on a run!
