Jo Frost Instagram - How did we get to a point where in society we have normalized using children as basically free labour to push our own agenda of making money through social influencer posts and vlogging gigs for Brands? Look what it has come to........for money,for likes,for attention....💔 The horrific situation that has unfolded before our very own eyes of the horrific abuse these children have endured is utterly heartbreaking,as a child advocate, a parental expert who guides families with a duty of care and a woman who absolutely adores children, I can hardly bare to think how many other children may be suffering in silence, posing for photos,holding or using the product - 'being good little children' and smiling away at the camera, to keep mommy or daddy happy! I know Brands encourage as much too, you know who you are! Shame on you! As for those who own all these different social platforms you need to get some legalities in place,start regulating and simply do the right thing to protect children as much as you can or you are complicit in child abuse, child labor and neglect ! Jo Frost Instagram - When children look out of a car window, they will observe alot, learn something new each time,even confirm what they thought. The changing colours of the trees,different houses and the way they are built.The colors of different things, the weather,people busy in life,some caught in expression,banter. Airplanes,trains on tracks,art work and so much more.......... Yet parents block all of that in a weak,auto parenting,blind moment of leadership because it's 'easier' for them to give their child a cell phone...an iPad to distract,even if it does have edu tools on it. I recently watched a family of 6 in Italy,consumed in their own tech world eating oblivious around a table 'together' ,right in front of a wealth of history! How is this happening? 2 year olds in strollers watching parents iPhone, distracted. Teens with parents but not present,consumed elsewhere. Today's post is a reminder that it's easier to blame the child 'needing it' than to sometimes look at yourself as a parent and do the right thing. By all means educate yourself, however I want you as parents to block out the distractions as they are preventing you from listening to your own inner voice,get real quite,I promise you, you will hear and when you do it will then require you to go into action to change the circumstances. One of service has always been embedded in our family, through the positive role modeling and acts of kindness of my parents that both my brother and i witnessed at Christmas and throughout the year. Many families are going through tough times, so please remember that doesn't always look pretty... have patience with people, AND the children who are impacted by such, be gracious and refrain from the drama,rebuttal with kindness,or be mature in silence with boundaries, you never know what peace you may instill. Jo Frost Instagram - WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS ? The art of writing & going deeper than a quick verbal 'Thank you' is the opportunity for your child to express their creativity in an organic way. I find it helps children get real comfortable with feelings of gratitude. In today's world the biggest benefit is fostering mindfulness. Taking a moment to really think about the gift they received after ripping through the wrapping paper, that someone took the time to think about them & what they may like. It is truly the art of encouraging small talk too beyond a note, a valuable skill for us all. Our world today is missing a lot of these fundamental basics with 1000 excuses for not upholding them. So I invite you to think about what makes all of us feel appreciated?... I hope as you read this post it may encourage you as your child's role model, teacher, mentor, to think about how you show your appreciation to those around you and the smallest of gestures that stretch a long way.
