I’m delighted to be at @yale University’s Jackson School.
I just spoke with students about central banking and financial stability.
Up next, I’ll be speaking about the power of ideas in the context of Europe.
We have made progress on gender equality, but better is not good enough.
Today, on International Women’s Day, I spoke about the importance of closing the gap at the Professional Women’s Network’s Global Summit. I want to share some thoughts:
▶️ Gender inequality persists in way too many sectors. Women need take their rightful place in the jobs and occupations that will define the future.
▶️ We need more entrepreneurs in Europe, but we are not getting the most out of female talent. Only 11% of EU start-ups are led by women.
To all women, don’t short yourself. Think big. Take risks.
International cooperation and digital innovation are essential to support monetary and financial stability in an increasingly complex environment.
President Christine Lagarde was delighted to welcome BIS General Manager Agustín Carstens this morning to the European Central Bank’s main building in Frankfurt.
This week I’m in Washington, D.C. for @the_imf and @worldbank Spring Meetings, a great venue for international cooperation.
From my side I will be explaining the @europeancentralbank’s latest monetary policy decisions and the European economic outlook.
Discussions on monetary policy are underway at our main building in Frankfurt.

We discussed tackling climate change, the role of women in leadership, being an advocate for change and pushing for a more inclusive economic world.
