Whenever I’m struggling or trying to find a better way of doing something I always find the answers in books. Maybe not the first book I read on the subject (and definitely not inside EVERY book I read on the subject) but always in books.
Great books stand the test of time— they’re just as helpful decades (or even thousands of years!) after they were written. 👀 shout out to the Stoics.
If you’re lucky enough to have access to a library you can learn for free. If you go on Amazon you can see ratings on which books in your area of interest are most popular. If you don’t like reading physical books, audio books exist. I have never had a problem in life —in any area— that didn’t have a book (or several) filled with ideas for how to fix it.
I 💛 books. That is all 🤓

Started reading this last night and I’m hooked! It’s speaking to so many things that terrify me when it comes to my kids and technology.
The data studying the affects social media has had on adolescents is pretty bleak but @jonathanhaidt writes with some direction on where we go from here. This makes me feel hopeful that I won’t eventually need to move us all off-grid and away from the internet to keep us safe 🥴 (I do daydream about it tho)
If you’re a parent (or someone who works with, cares for, loves anyone under the age of 20) this is a really important read.
Did a private class with my favorite @noraeceramics as part of our spring break trip.
This is my second time doing a class with Lauren and I’m always impressed by the peaceful, grounded space she’s created.
Absolutely recommend @studionorae as a group activity if you have any upcoming trips to Oahu or as a new hobby if you live on the island. 💛 #oahuhawaii #visitoahu
PS – coming back in to add, this is not an ad. I’ve loved Norae Ceramics for years (she does all the mugs for my podcast guests), and I paid for our session. Just want to support a small business / woman owned encourage you to invest in locally owned activities when you visit these magical islands.
Lessons in confidence from @badassboz!! Haven’t stopped thinking about this quote since she said it to me. Listen to the full conversation wherever you get your podcasts. 👇🏻

EP 578: This is one of those times it’s important to note, I have NO IDEA what’s right for you… I can only tell you what works for me, right now, in this season of life.
In this season of life I have way more questions than answers. In this season of life I have way more curiosity than judgement. In this season of life I’m learning as much as I can.
In my thirties I feel like I was growing taller branches— learning to take up space. In my forties I like to think that I’m growing deeper roots.
In today’s episode of the podcast I’m talking about what faith and spirituality look like for me today and how I learn more about things that interest me: like intuition, energy, how trauma manifests physically, etc.
Y’all know I love a numbered list 😂 so I’m sharing 5 things I do to explore spirituality more deeply.

EP. 574: Confidence | You, Feeling More Like YOU!
Confidence is something you build… not something you buy. Confidence is about you feeling like you. Not you LOOKING like someone you see on the internet.
I’m chatting through confidence and what it really means on the podcast today!
I couldn’t have understood this book 5 years ago.
I didn’t have the language and the subject matter would have confused me. Recently someone recommended it and as soon as I read the synopsis I thought “I’m gonna nerd out on this SO hard!”
I have absolutely appreciated every sentence, every term I had to google to better comprehend and every perspective I hadn’t considered before… I freaking LOVE books for that!
But also, isn’t it cool that we can comprehend things today that a younger version of ourselves couldn’t even imagine? 51 year old me will understand things 41 year old me hasn’t even heard of—I can’t wait!
I know how it feels to have people push back on your growth, on who you’ve become or how your beliefs might have altered. But dang it guys, growth is the whole point! If you’re lucky enough to live through decades on this planet, why on earth would you want to be the same iteration in all them?
Keep learning. Keep your mind open. Keep your heart open. Keep meeting new people and hearing about their experiences. Keep reading books that push you to become the version of yourself that’s wise enough to understand them. 🤟🏻
EP 571: It was an absolute gift to sit with @zainabsalbi and hear her story!
If you’ve ever considered starting your own non-profit (or really, starting anything at all!) but you question what kind of impact one person can have, YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE.
