I am so stoked to be a World Vision Ambassador and to be part of this years @40HourNZ This year we are raising funds to regreen communities in the Asia-Pacific region and support them to become more resilient to the changing climate. The term for our approach is Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration – a simple technique that taps into existing root networks to regrow trees. For kids in Timor-Leste, who’ve lost 90 percent of their original forests, this would be a total game changer! Revived forests can help provide cleaner air, prevent landslides and protect life-giving water sources during droughts. Our epic goal is to bring back 1 billion hectares of global forest over the next 10 years. If we can do it, we’ll remove up to a quarter of the world’s carbon from the atmosphere. This would give us a massive win in the fight for climate justice. Sign up now! @40hournz @worldvisionnz #worldvision #40hourchallenge Hair and make up @standingby_ltd and @ellie_paris_

📍 Uganda @worldvisionnz #1000Girls Meet Jackline, our 11-year-old sponsor child from Uganda We understand that there might be trepidation when it comes to child sponsorship and wanting to be sure that your money is actually going to get there and make a positive impact on your sponsor child’s life. I have been working closely with World Vision for almost seven years now and after a few trips to see first-hand some of the work they do with communities and I can assure you, your contributions, no matter how large or small, are having a massive impact on those who are most in need. We know that Jackline has someone checking in on her regularly, that she has access to education and health care and someone locally who can advocate for her. She wants to be a Doctor and Tom and I will do everything we can to support her through World Vision. What’s more, our sponsorship is also supporting Jackline’s wider community as it helps fund things that everyone can benefit from, like clean water, nutrition and economic opportunities. Creating a thriving community will ensure that Jackline has more opportunities and I think that’s pretty cool that we’re not only helping her, but those closest to her. There is such a great need for child sponsorship for girls! Join us to achieve our goal of sponsoring #1000Girls by International Day of the Women on March 8th. Rise up for her rights! 🙌 Text DONATE to 5055 to give $3 now or visit wvnz.org.nz/1000-girls. #1000girls

📍 Pixar Fest, Disneyland (honeymoon pt 2) This is the first time either of us have experienced Pixar Fest and we LOVED IT! We also loved exploring the parks as adults and feeling like kids ourselves. We are both huge Disney Fans and to be able to experience Pixar Fest together was a real dream come true! There is special parades, food items and all our favourite characters roaming the park! We also stayed at the park till closing both nights because we didn’t want the fun to end! This was my first time at California Adventure and the Incredicoaster is perhaps my fav roller coaster of all time! The best thing we ate was the Angry Mac and Cheese (super spicy with flaming hot Cheetos on top) It’s also such a joy to see so many people really embracing joy and magic. It warms my heart! @disney.parks @disneyland @disneyaunz #pixarfest2024
📍 Pixar Fest, Disneyland Top Tips!!! If you are planning a trip to Disneyland, 100% try to go during Pixar Fest! 1) Get epic outfits 2) Try the specialty food items for Pixar Fest like the Angry Mac and Cheese and the Slightly Annoyed Dog 3) Secure a good spot for the parade. People line up pretty early and if you want a good view of the magic, I suggest you do too! @disney.parks @disneyland @disneyaunz #pixarfest2024
Last week we dedicated a day to wedding activities. 💍 This included a nice lunch together at Ahi to celebrate. ❤️ We do a lot of long distance, so finding moments to do activities together and enjoy our quality time is so important. Ahi did not disappoint! What an absolute delight it was! 10/10 recommend! We have been building a page for all our most loved spots around the globe on @prettyromanticreviews Location: Ahi, Auckalnd CBD @ahirestaurant Vibe: Exquisite, delicious and fancy Must Try / Highlight: The bluff oysters are wonderful, and great to try now the season has officially begun! We share everything which we recommend so you can try a few different dishes. We recommend staying to dessert if you can fit it in. The Lamington inspired dessert was so spectacular in taste and presentation. You can also watch all the food being prepared with their open plan kitchen. Shining star: The Scampi Corn Dog was one of the best things we have EVER eaten! Cost: more on the expensive side but you won’t leave hungry and the dishes are so memorable I think its perfectly priced. If you are looking for a place to have a celebratory meal, we would 100% recommend coming to Ahi. Pretty Romantic Rating: 5/5 hearts. Great food, great staff, and wonderful view of the ferry building. Perfect for a day date on a nice day or we imagine a divine spot to celebrate something special in the evening. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #datenight #bestexperiences #couples #dateideas #date #datenight
📍 BTS of our creator day with the @40HourNZ with @worldvisionnz – adore these humans so much and so incredibly proud to be an ambassador along side this talented bunch! 📍 Nearly 1.5 million people have fled violence and hunger in South Sudan in recent years and sought refuge in northern Uganda. World Vision ambassador, @kimcrossman , met Elizabeth a South Sudanese refugee who was forced to flee violence in her country with her eight children. When rebels attacked her town, she made the heartbreaking decision to flee with her children, leaving her elderly mother behind. Carrying one child on her back, another on her shoulders, with her other children walking, Elizabeth embarked on a treacherous five-day journey to safety. Elizabeth arrived in Uganda and was given a small plot land where she built her own home from mud and thatched a roof. On the wall inside her hut she showed Kim a picture she had drawn, on it was a home, a cow and a tree for her family to sit under. It is her vision board for the future. Women like Elizabeth are working to rebuild their lives and provide a future for their children in the toughest of circumstances. “The mental strength of women like Elizabeth is so inspiring” reflects Kim. With your support, World Vision is providing food assistance, clean water, hygiene kits and cash assistance to refugees like Elizabeth, returnees and host communities. You can help children living in the world’s most dangerous places. Text RESPOND to 5055 to donate $3 now or visit the link in our bio. 🙏
