We couldn’t be prouder of Mia if we tried. The last couple of months have been so tough on her and the way she has navigated this part of her life has been astonishing. As you know from the minute she was home from the hospital Norman & Ollie were a part of her life. A constant security blanket. She knew nothing else but life with them as part of our family. Explaining to her they were going to be leaving us has so far been the hardest thing I’ve had to do as a parent. I sat and thought for days about how best to do it. She’s cried when she’s needed, she’s been angry at times and she’s been curious. She’s asked me why they went? where are they now? did it hurt? will they be back? will there be other dogs with them? lots of questions I’ve tried my hardest to answer all whilst trying to deal with it myself. I’m so happy shes actually asking though. She’s talking and not bottling anything in. The pain from grief and loss is something every single one of us will experience in life. It makes me sad that Mias first time was when she was so young. But I’m also happy that for her first 5 years she was taught responsibility, empathy, compassion and loyalty from 2 incredible dogs. She made a wish before bed the other night that they could come back for Christmas Day 😔 The house really doesn’t feel the same without them. I know when the time is right we’ll look to rescue another dog, or maybe 2. Actually 5 if it was just up to me! (Fa facksaaske Gemah) It won’t be to fill the void, as Norman & Ollie are irreplaceable. It’ll be to create new memories and new friendships with furry friends who need us just as much as we need them ❤️
New year. A fresh start and new beginnings ✨✨ Yesterday we took the Christmas tree down, and in the process a crystal I’d placed next to a photo of Norman & Ollie got knocked over and smashed. They say when a crystal smashes it can be a gesture from the universe marking the end of a phase. The crystal may have helped you through a transformation or difficult time and it breaking signifies that you are now strong enough and able to move forward without its assistance. I don’t believe in coincidence, and the fact it was the crystal placed next to that picture and the fact it happened on the one day we had another dog in the house (Rocco) for me, was a clear message. We’re going to be ok. Mia will be ok. We buried it back in the earth and asked Norman & Ollie to come and visit us from time to time. She was so happy digging and chatting away to them. New year. A fresh start and new beginnings but forever in my memory ❤️❤️🐶🐶

Happy Happy Birthday to the best of the best! @gorka_marquez In either swim shorts, a suit or sequins no one does it better! 😂 I’m sorry I won’t see you today (at least it gives me longer to sort you a gift) 😉 I love you ❤️
My 2024’s fashion from the one and only @ryankaystyles From my post partum to my power suits & shirts to showing my muscles he had me covered. We actually met watching Gorka’s tour where he turned from the seat in front of me and said “Gem babe, let me style you for events and red carpets. I can help” 😂 I genuinely wouldn’t have put myself in any of these outfits as I’m always usually just jeans or trackies with a hoodie. I’ve always gone for comfort over appearance 😂 BUT Ryan changed that by building my confidence to actually show my body in outfits and stand tall and Amazonian! To the point where I now love exploring with clothes even more. I’m so excited for our 2025 looks (3 booked in already!) from my stylist to my friend he’s been bloody brilliant! Here’s to showing all the different versions of ourselves, and Im proof that gym girls can absolutely do both! 💪🏼 👗
Thanks for all your lovely messages about my shoot for Women’s Health. My 3rd cover! Wow! 😮 What an honour. Always a pleasure working with such a wonderful team. Here’s some BTS. Hair @dinopereirahair Makeup @emmyclarkson Training program and quads built by @elliottupton 😂
I didn’t train this morning, but I moved & stretched and for brief moments the sun came out. What a difference already. Focusing on nothing that’s happened, only my breathing. A reminder to myself that movement is my medicine & I have to get myself back into my regime. It’d be easy for me sit around and wallow over the past 5 months. But I refuse to stay in that place when there’s so much to be thankful for. Let the healing begin ❤️ Ps. I know full well Norm & Ollie were lay in that sun spot with me as usual 💫💫
Snippets from todays session 🤘🏼 A week into @elliottupton program for me and so far loving it. Today was an EMOM, I performed the above exercises for 4 rounds, a min on each (28 mins so nice and quick) My aim is to build more muscle 💪🏼 I know not everyone will get that, BUT I had a chat with Eliot before our first session and I told him it’s something I’ve always done, for at least 15 years because it makes me feel good. He explained to me how there’s a lot more to it and he put it to me in layman’s terms. He said the below, and honestly, it makes me want to do it even more now. “Your 40 in November right? So weight training is 100% the thing you should be doing. In fact for women over 40 or women going through menopause, it’s essential. It’ll increase insulin sensitivity as the menopause kicks in, it’ll help combat stress levels, decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases, help prevent bone degeneration going into menopause and building muscle is the number 1 factor in slowing down the aging process” He ended it with “there is no argument against weight training for women, esp women over 40” So ladies, do not fear the weights! Your body and mind will thank you for it. With that in mind, I picked up the dumbbells and cracked on! I’m excited to see how I look towards the end of year under Elliot’s supervision adjusting sessions as and when we need to.
Guess who’s back as the @womenshealthuk cover star… say hello to Gemma Atkinson 💪 ‘I’m genuinely feeling the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. Training for me isn’t about trying to fit a certain size or shape. ‘It’s about being strong, functional and fit enough to take on anything life throws at me. Be that a tough workout, challenging life stage – like postpartum recovery – or still being active when I’m old. ‘Head to the link in the bio to read my fitness philosophy in full – plus, why I think worrying about growing older is ridiculous.’ Photography @matt_monfredi Stylist @saskiaquirke Make Up @emmyclarkson Hair @dinopereirahair EIC @clairesanderson Editor @nikki_osman Creative Director @declanfahy Photo Directors @emilybaho @hearstphotodirector Art Director @willmatic101 Art Editor @florenceogramdesign Social Media Managers @emilyemmins @isabelleshury
Not “strong for a girl” just strong. 😏 No one will ever regret getting stronger. Resistance training is essential for our bodies to thrive. Especially as we age. Don’t fear the weights, use them! 💪🏼

My mental phases of running 🫠 I’ve tried to turn myself into a long distance runner and it’s just not me at all. I much prefer HIIT training when it comes to cardio. I mean, my favourite kind of training is just back to basics old school body building with supersets and heavy dumbbells but for my cardio it’s all about short and sweaty. Make sure you find an exercise program that you like, that way you’re more likely to stick to it 💪🏼 Long distance running for me is utter misery, a 30 min EMOM for me is enjoyable and it’s also great for increasing my cardiovascular endurance. There’s more than a one way fits all to training. Find YOUR preferred way. And go smash it!!! Ps. I take my hat off to any long distance runners, I genuinely don’t know how you do it! 🏃♀️🙌🏼
2 weeks with Rocco ❤️ When my sister asked me to dog sit Rocco while they went on holiday i was a little unsure as I didn’t know much about bulldogs. I’d spent a little time with Rocco at her house & we’ve had some up at Bleakholt that id met but that was it so I didn’t really know what to expect. I was a little worried taking on the task at first as Gorka is away rehearsing, we’ve got builders in, im parenting Mia & Thiago and working so the last thing I needed was a bulldog in the mix! BUT I said yes because the alternative was leaving him in kennels or with a professional dog sitter (which I’m sure are brilliant) but we thought it best to leave him with someone he knows. The things Ive learnt about him are despite his build and tough guy look, he’s scared of the coffee machine, electric blinds, tin foil and sometimes snails if they are on the back step in his way 🤦🏼♀️😂 He loves company from anyone & everyday has casually sat & watched the builders do their thing whilst following them about from room to room. In fact, I’ve caught all the builders at some point stroking or talking to him. He’s won them all over. He loves cuddles, bum rubs, leaning on my leg when I’m stood washing up, playing with Thiago & Mia and carrying his key toy around proud as punch. As I breed I was really surprised at how intelligent they are. His ability to understand commands and follow routine is top notch. He’s also extremely affectionate & placid and he wants to be with you all the time. I guess like most dogs, it’s that loyalty that makes them angels on earth, regardless of their breed, size or appearance. Ive felt like I’ve had another toddler in the house. Albeit a chubby hairy one. As a roundup, he slotted into our loving chaotic family perfectly. He’s a happy distinguished gentleman with a heart of gold and he’s welcome around our house anytime he likes 🥰 He’s off home today but I’ll be seeing him in a couple of weeks when I pop round for my cuppa with my sis. I never thought I’d say this, but Rocco, you won me over by day 2 and you’re in my top 10 dogs for sure. Bulldogs are ace! ❤️
Been filming something really lovely with Ollie for @lorraine today. Stay tuned next week! 👀 🎥 🐶

Today’s little circuit. 10 DB Goblet squat 10 burpees 1 min skip 30 sec plank Rest 30 sec then repeat for 5 rounds. I’m Officially back on @elliottupton programming tomorrow. I had some time off over Christmas, but tomorrow I’ll be sending over my photos, be back on my macros and back on scheduled workouts. I always like to start up again before the new year. Why delay making changes when it comes to our health. If you can start now, do it. Is it gonna be one day or day 1? The choice is yours. I think as well when it comes to New Year we should try changing the word resolutions to standards. Setting standards for ourselves will be more beneficial. It even sounds more important. My standard is to move daily, even a brisk walk. My standards are to prioritise 8 mins before bed to stretching. My standards are to fuel myself with good nutrition whilst still occasionally enjoying foods I love. My standards are to see the girls once a month for a good catchup and lots of laughs. Nothing has to be drastic and nothing has to be completely eliminated. For me, part of “self care” is enjoying things in moderation, moving daily and not taking life too seriously. Remember, The standards you set determine the life you get. 💪🏼 ✨ ❤️
