It’s International Women’s Day — and these 17 stats bring the alarming reality of many women’s lives into focus. Around the world, countless women experience systemic barriers that men simply don’t. They are being denied equal access to education and healthcare. Violence against women remains shockingly common. Despite doing a majority of the world’s work, women hold just one-third of the world’s wealth. International Women’s Day is a call for global action. It’s about standing with women everywhere — recognizing that while our lives may be vastly different, their struggles are our struggles because our futures are bound together. And it’s an opportunity to recommit to building a world where women and girls are afforded the same chance in life: the freedom to choose their futures, control their own bodies, and reach their fullest potential. #iwd2025

After 484 days in captivity, Keith Siegal is finally home. My heart is with Keith and his incredible wife, Aviva — a former hostage herself — whose resilience, determination, and relentless efforts to bring him and all the hostages home have been nothing short of extraordinary. Throughout the last 15 months, Aviva never lost hope. Her strength has been an inspiration to us all. As Keith, Aviva, and their family finally reunite, I hope they find the peace and healing they so deeply deserve. The same goes for Yarden Bibas, Ofer Calderon, and their families. I pray every day for the remaining hostages’ safe return. https://bit.ly/4jH06JP
If America is to remain competitive, secure, and sustain its position as an economic superpower, we need to unleash the full potential of all women in the workplace. Women’s workforce participation and leadership are key to the strong, successful future we all want. Read my op-ed in the @financialtimes. bit.ly/3XyNVp3
Proud sister moment. My brother @davidisandberg dedicated his career to saving children’s lives through his work as a pediatric neurosurgeon and researcher. Now he’s sharing his journey with the world in a new memoir. In “Brain and Heart,” David reflects on the profound joy and immense challenges that come with performing brain surgery on children. He gets real about what it feels like to make difficult choices with life-changing consequences. And he shares his heartbreaking cases, greatest triumphs, and experiences traveling around the world to deliver care. David, I could not look up to you more. And I know so many others will too after reading your book. Pre-order it here: bit.ly/40Mjs7J
I believe more strongly than ever in harnessing the power and potential of women in our workforce. That’s why I’m so proud of @leaninorg’s efforts to support and advance all women and help build workplaces that tap the talents of everyone to achieve success. And I’m grateful to @rachelsthomas_ for leading this important work. On @linkedin, Rachel makes clear why it’s critical for women to have the same opportunities to advance and feel included and valued at work and for companies to stay true to the values that got us this far. I hope you read it. bit.ly/3DqOQ4a
From the moment I met Stacy Brown-Philpot (@sbrown0496) at @Google, I saw her incredible potential. Over the last two decades, it’s been awesome to watch her career unfold — from leading Google’s global operations to taking the helm as CEO of @Taskrabbit. Her unique combination of being a great strategist and a great executor sets her apart. Stacy has grown into a truly remarkable leader, a close friend, and an invaluable part of my @Leaninorg Circle. Today, I’m so excited to celebrate Stacy’s next big step: the launch of Cherryrock Capital (@cherryrockcap). I have no doubt she will make a lasting mark on the world of venture capital, and the founders Cherryrock Capital supports will be better leaders, operators, and executors. Stacy, I’m incredibly proud of all that you’ve accomplished. Congratulations! Read more in Bloomberg: https://bit.ly/4gQB9Jr Read Stacy’s Blog Post: https://bit.ly/3CUNXAE
My friend @linda_knoll and I visited the coolest shop in Mexico City: @incendiarias__. We got beautiful handcrafted rings, art prints, and mugs, for us and our daughters. And we loved learning about all the ways the store is making a real impact on the community. Founded by Regina Gómez Iturribarría (@reginagoitu) and Irene Pedrós Bretos (@irenepedros), the boutique showcases the work of over 100 women artisans. But what makes Incendiarias so special is that it’s more than a store, it’s a cultural center. It hosts art exhibits, book discussions, and workshops — everything from jewelry-making to discussions on the history and experiences of women in Latin America. Having spaces where women to come together and create is so important. If you’re in Mexico City, I hope you check it out!

There’s nothing I enjoy more than connecting with entrepreneurs who are breaking new ground and making a real difference. Last week in Houston, I was lucky enough to do exactly that. @katiemehnert is a trailblazer for women in energy. In 2015, she started @leaninorg Energy, and now the community has grown to over 1,850 members. As CEO and founder of Ally Energy (@pinkpetro), Katie is helping build a more equitable energy future. She’s bringing together people, jobs, and skills to ensure no one gets left behind as we move toward cleaner energy — especially women and underrepresented communities. @julianagaraizar, founder of Nexus Energy Texas (@nexussolar), is empowering innovators with the capital and resources they need to turn their ideas into reality. Her work is helping shape the next generation of clean energy breakthroughs. Grace Rodriguez (@thatgracerodriguez), CEO of the @impacthubhouston, is on a mission to help “do-gooders do greater.” She’s connecting start-up founders with the partnerships, networks, and support they need to scale their impact. Dr. Sharita Humphrey (@sharitamh), CEO of EcoPower Source, is pioneering a revolutionary geothermal-powered resilience hub in Prairie View, Texas to support disaster recovery, enhance the city’s tech infrastructure, and reduce energy costs for the community. The GeoEcoHub will create 50,000 new jobs and bring high-speed internet to communities that need it most. I’m in awe of these women and the powerful work being done by every leader I met. And I’m grateful for the chance to learn from them!

Congratulations to my dear friend @allisonsweetgrant on the release of her incredible debut novel! “I Am the Cage” is a moving coming-of-age story about finding light in the darkness. A young adult novel, it follows a teenager’s journey of healing, growth, and the courage to open her heart again. It’s a book that stays with you long after the final page. I can’t recommend it enough. https://bit.ly/4hCbYeg
For more than thirty years, Eastern Congo has been torn apart by war. A war where rape is used to terrorize, displace, and control communities. Entire villages are destroyed. And hospitals meant to heal are turned into targets — including Panzi Hospital and Foundation (@panzifoundation) founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate @drdenismukwege. For 25 years, Panzi Hospital has been a lifeline to so many — providing hope and care to over 83,000 survivors of sexual violence. But today it’s under threat as the M23 armed group marches towards Bukavu. The world cannot look away. When Dr. Mukwege received his Peace Prize, he called on the world to “be a witness” and urged us to unite in ending the “suffering that shames our common humanity.” Now, more than ever, we must add our voices to Dr. Mukwege’s. #ProtectPanzi
