New painting unlocked 🔓 🎨 Challenged myself to paint a landscape. I’m usually portraits all the way. I took a photo of this scene last week. The sunset was so gorgeous and it proved heavenly to paint. Went into hyper focus and did it in one sitting. (Bar a short trip to the school because my son had forgotten something he needs again!). Having just been to the Turner/Constable exhibition at the Tate I felt massively inspired. When I’m painting my brain sort of flat-lines. I stop worrying, stressing, planning and am just in the moment. What should I paint next? X

We may still feel pain, sorrow, anger etc….but how much and how long we allow them to have influence over our happiness levels is up to us. This year I am protecting my peace like my life depends on it. My mental peace has moved right up the list. Don’t give it/them your energy. You are the CEO!!!

Spoiler alert…. By the end of writing my book Likeable I fully worked out that the best way to worry less whether you’re liked by others or live alongside the knowledge that you’re unliked, is to….. LIKE YOURSELF!!! In the last year I’ve lessened the self loathing and slowly swapped it for much longer periods of feeling happy in my skin. On good days I really like myself quite a lot. I’ve not landed on fully loving myself but I’m getting there. Falling in-like with yourself might be a more achievable ask. Likeable is out in just over a week and I’m so ready for it. Its my most honest book and the lessons learned in it are often in real time. I’m in the thick of it all still. Mitigating self loathing, learning to sit in the discomfort of not always pleasing others and learning to like myself. Saying that….I really do hope…you LIKE it. #Likeable out March 12th 📚
