Huge theme this week it seems, I get it, I’ve been there. Some days I still gotta get back into alignment with my highest self. Message is still the same – It’s alwayyyyssss about how good your relationship is with YOU! Now more than ever as things are shifting faster. Uncertainty can give the illusion of things being “hard”. Stay engaged babes, don’t put the heart walls up. Don’t tap out. . Keep it simple. Step 1. Define you next level strategy for your brand. Step 2. Master your relationship with your higher self. Happy V-Day I used to have a fear of intimacy. I was afraid that if I showed up as “all of me”, if I let myself be fully seen – I wouldn’t be accepted. I was told, be all the amazing woman you can be – but not too much or you won’t fit in. I was told, don’t be too smart, boys don’t like that. I was told everything wasn’t good enough. Dealing with being rejected on a daily basis takes a toll. I put heart walls up just to protect yourself – more leather than lace most days. When my heart energy was closed off, I attracted romantic partners that just validated me not being seen. I mean, how could I be intimate with someone if I didn’t allow them to see all of me. I held back the parts me that I thought would be judged or cause jealousy. I would only allow occasional moments of openness, when it felt safe again, when I thought I wouldn’t get hurt again. Only to experience another relationship that “proved” I was better off with my heart wall high. Holding my heart closed, then open, then closed again to the energy of love was whip-lash to my soul it was making my bank account look like a rollercoaster. I never thought about intimacy being connected to abundance when I first started my online business, I didn’t think it would show up there too….. *continued in comments ⤵️
Female entrepreneurs – remember that being a high-achiever, ambitious go-getter, you are paving your own way so self doubt is actually normal, getting stuck is normal. Letting it stop you? Uhhh, no no, we don’t do that here. Hahah! I was literally sitting here with the 100 decisions I need to make in my business right now. Making changes, letting go of old, creating brand new programs…soooo many decisions it’s easy to get stopped. Almost got into a loop then I remembered this….. Someone said to me, “40 is the new 30 they say”. “WHAT?” Hahahhn! Uhhh, Nah, babe, 40 is the new 40, it doesn’t need to be anything else. Why is there so much stigma around this age. That is such an the outdate, tired, boxed-in societal judgment that 40 should be anything other than…..40. It’s a slap in the face. To say it’ should be something else, it should be younger? Some even say “40 is the new 20”. I was high in my 20’s, I almost died at 24 learning how to self medicate my trauma. In my 30’s, I was still pushing the envelope but I was also still trying to feel good enough in my own skin, making wrong turns messing things up. To say that 40 isn’t good enough. For all the times I felt “no good enough” this IS good enough. 40 is good enough. I actually finally have a real sense of “good enough at 40. It’s like a giant expansion into a whole different level of self. F*k “40 is the new 30” “40 is the new 40” And I’m proud of it. I feel great. I can genuinely say, I’m happy with the challenges I’ve overcome, the choices I’ve made, the mistakes I made too. I’ve thought for myself. Maybe I’ve hidden when I was scared but I’ve never played it safe. Maybe I’ve questioned myself but I’ve never followed what others told me I “should” do. Maybe I’ve been afraid but I never let anyone put my into a stereotype or box of what I can or cannot do. And every time I made a big choice others thought was crazy, I didn’t know what would happen, but I risked the leap anyway. I have not done anything average or “normal”. If I had done everything I was support to do by societies standards….I would not have be where I am today. So at 40, the dash year, as they say…..the dash on your tomb stone between your birthday your transition to another form date.….. I’m so here for it. This next chapter will continue being everything that I have stood for – “Life is an adventure”, meant to be lived on OUR OWN TERMS. Cause age only matters if you’re a fine wine. Hahaha! how to get all the crap out of your mind that causes self doubt sabotage? Ahhh – it just feels crazy sometimes how the loop of uncertainty, doubt second guessing just keeps spinning like a dryer setting on high with a broken knob. Are you either just starting your online ventures or established in your career you realize there’s an inner dialogue that is getting you stuck keep you from getting to the next level. It’s not supposed to be hard. I’m sure you’ve been doing positive mantras affirmations in your gratitude journal every night. I remember sitting awake at night with a racing mind of fear driven thoughts, playing out worst case scenarios my inner critic (I call her Cruella) that would repeat, “you must not know enough yet or you would be able to get yourself through on your own”. And it was true, there was something I didn’t know yet because clearly all the “mindset” reframing I was doing still wasn’t getting to a deeper level. Ok, there is this guy – 💁♀️🤣 kind of obsessed with (like a healthy obsession though, you know. F*kin’ love smart guys) – Carl Jung. You might know him. If he was alive, I swear, I could brain-gasm alllll day with homeslice. 🤣 He’s most notoriously known for identifying five main archetypes—the persona, the shadow, the anima or animus and the self – the engaged parts of ourselves that we are not always conscious of. *Nerd alert if you know this And then identifying the characteristics of what we know to be twelve brand archetypes as: The Innocent, Everyman, Hero, Outlaw, Explorer, Creator, Ruler, Magician, Lover, Caregiver, Jester, and Sage. And you thought branding was just about fashion colors! Hahah! NO! So, I nerded out on creating a whole google slide deck explaining each one, their shadow the moment of life transitions they are associated with. (*DM me up if you want it) Every time you experience a major life transition, you might slip through a “shadow archetype”. Think of the last movie you watched. “If you go blonde, you’ll work more”. I still remember the day my manager told me that. At 17 years old, I wasn’t mad at having 30 national commercials under my belt already but I had not yet broken into Film TV. I did it, platinum even. And the truth was – I DID work more! That was my first lesson in personal branding. Seems like a lifetime ago I was fully embracing my Sedona Shaman side, I loved being barefoot in the desert, teaching about higher consciousness, spirituality the subconscious elements of self-love. omg, I was so boho bhakti chic. Hahah! She’s still part of me somewhere. As I became a teacher at the Yavapai (Sedona) college established myself as a mentor, I realized I needed to elevate my personal brand. I love using juxtaposition brand archetypes – using two opposites, but supportive to each other. I’m the leather lace kinda girl. Denim with diamonds. Moving from teaching self love to self leadership to high-achieving entrepreneurs, I leveled up again. Every time I elevated my personal brand, it upleveled my business. . The top 2 industry favorites are to tell you that you just have to identify your “Ideal client” create “magnetic messaging”. That’s only marketing, that’s half the equation. Branding comes first – because Your Personal Brand Presence speaks to your future clients subconscious mind, within .05 seconds, before they even read your copy. But it makes me sad to see incredible women, who have a true gift, who LOVE teaching helping others, who’s expertise could save someone life – keep saying to me….. I’m not attracting who I want to work with I’m making money but not making the income I really want I’m putting out content all the time but not generating the engagement. And that’s when I say, I get it, It was that way for me too until I included the missing piece – that you haven’t established a personal brand presence that would speak to your ideal client/customer in a way that they identify with will trust. If your branding isn’t the foundational part of your marketing strategy then don’t market anything until you do. Remember, YOU are your brand. My hands were gripping the wheel. A little teary eyed looking out a somewhat dirty windshield as my mind raced with uncertainty…..but my little BMW Z3 coupe (I’m such a classic car kinda girl) was packed to the brim. I already committed. Said goodbye to my manager put 15 years of a successful career behind me, I closed my apartment sold half my shit. It was a new path. I was literally on a highway of open road full of unknown possibilities. What if it doesn’t work out. I feel like I’m jumping off the cliff don’t know where I will land. What if I fail. And then there’s another part of me saying, “I’m so excited, the world is my playground to create what I want.” The past the future were with me at the same time. And they collide in a moment of excitement dread. I KNEW IT’S TIME TO REINVENT. Because it is the space between the obstacles that can leave you paralyzed in the unknown the access to unlimited creativity. It was only 1 year before that I couldn’t get hired. There was a huge change in my industry. The energy in business seemed to dry up. Opportunities don’t come together as easily. It was the first time I realized I wasn’t in control of my own success. I began questioning yourself more often What do I stand for now? Where do I want to put my creativity, share my gifts, now? Am I aligned with where I see myself making a difference in the world? What feels exciting right now? I realized that I couldn’t hold onto past expectations. Yes, letting go is really hard. But always remember, this is YOUR life, the only one who can make changes in the present is you. Don’t be a prisoner of your past. It’s only there to teach you how to become the best version of yourself, now. What do you want to commit to that’s different this time? A mentor once told me, “it’s never about taking the first step that leads to your success, because you still have one foot in one foot out.
