Isabelle is five 🥹🫶🏼
Is it normal to be this emotional about our children turning 5? It’s been half a decade, but it feels like yesterday that she was born. Somehow, I don’t remember what life was like without her.
Being a mother has opened my eyes to the constant shift of life— starting anew with each season, while learning true acceptance of time and growth.
While there is no manual on motherhood, we do have our hearts to guide us through each chapter.
The greatest lesson has been adjusting to change— our children blossom right before our eyes. It’s up to us to get to know them, listen to their little voices, give them space to explore and discover the world, while being their safe home to come back to.
It is an absolute privilege to be part of Isabelle’s life and to witness her grow into herself. 🦋 The most beautiful part about her is that she encourages everyone around her to be brave (“anyways you can do it”) while still taking courageous steps in her own life. She reminds me to do the same. 🤍

This morning at 4am I woke up with a piercing pain in my heart- while my babies were safely tucked into bed and my husband by my side, I wept for every terror-stricken mother, every child fearing for their life, and every man wondering if they’ll be able to protect their family and neighbors. My entire being aches with families that are suffering and waiting for their children to come home. I’m hurting with everyone who is experiencing unimaginable loss.
I couldn’t fall back asleep so I walked down to the ocean to watch the sunrise. As the sun came up I wondered how just an ocean away there was so much pain.
I pray for humanity and peace. I pray for a world where we can co-exist peacefully with different beliefs, faith, and families.
I pray for the Israeli community and the women, men, children, babies, and civilians.
I pray for the Palestinian community, the families in Gaza, and 1 million children caught in the crossfire.
I know none of us want innocent civilians to die… and it’s happening as I write this. It is unimaginable… it is too horrific. All of it.
I’m so sorry.
My heart is hurting with you.

Ever since Isabelle was a baby, I have been sharing morning mantras with her. Lately, she’s been saying them unprompted on her way to school and it warms my heart. She also paraphrases and comes up with her own little sayings to help with the jitters before class begins.
I hope her mantra gives you a little pep in your step today. If you’re feeling scared of the unknown or the outcome ahead… I want you to know that everything is going to work out for you— you know what’s best for your heart, your future, and your family. Trust yourself 🩷 Courage isn’t the absence of fear… it’s being a little scared, but doing it anyway because you know it’s right.
