London Marathon day is my favourite day of the year.
Even today, when I had an issue with my toes, I still smiled I would say around 90% of the way round. (My toes cut open and were bleeding from mile 9-they really hurt).
It may have prevented me getting the time I’d hoped but I was only 30 minutes behind with my walk/run combo. So I am super delighted with the end result.
Thank you to everyone that called my name and cheered me on….you made a difference. The crowds get better and better every single year. Today was also a perfect marathon day-not too hot, blue skies, the sun was shining. ☀️
I couldn’t fault anything apart from perhaps sadly my trainers needed to be bigger. I will not make that mistake again.

More than 50,000 runners will take to the streets of the capital to pound the pavements, raise incredible amounts of money for charity and collect that shiny medal at the finish line. Now Laura is known more for A Place in the Sun than for a run in the sun, (*sorry….not sorry) and her training for her marathon debut has meant she’s been running all across Europe. Has it paid off?
In this episode we discuss marathon training, nerves of the big day, what to expect, how to prepare and most importantly we chat about the feelgood of something as simple as a run. Even with long arduous training sessions, the joy of running is something that Laura truly appreciates snd she explains why.
