Yesterday a dear friend called me a high flying bird… I felt seen… instead of misunderstood… my whole life I have felt most at home in the sky… literally… on planes… or figuratively… in my imagination… between worlds… what happens in the sky stays in the sky… no matter where we take off from or where we might land… flying is where it’s at… and most people don’t agree… so it has felt like my secret place… the sky… the desert… the ocean… the unknown… for anyone afraid of flying… afraid of dying even… maybe open your heart a little wider… talk to the stranger beside you… tell them you are afraid… believe them when they tell you it’s ok… smile back at them… make them laugh… notice the miracle… make yourself laugh at the insanity of trying to figure it all out… let go… be curious… we are here now… soaring… not in control. I’ve been in the desert the past few days where the sky is consuming… no separation betwen what is and what isn’t… I’m clearly a small part of something unfathomable out here… alone… but aware of all of it… inseparable. I’m celebrating my brother’s birthday with him out here… we have always flown together and we still are… I do miss the sound of his voice and his laugh and his hugs and the way he smelled… a bit like weed and cigarettes but mostly like nice cologne… I miss waiting for his texts telling me he’s alive… as if I’m ridiculous for worrying about him… I miss him being the strong one… I miss his birthday cards and I miss the presents he would send for Alice… but I have to tell you… he really is here with me between worlds… and because of him… because he left this world where we play music and go to concerts together… I spend most of my days with my heart wide open to him in the sky… and when I’m in concerts with thousands of people I can feel the true size of the music… the unfathomable soaring spirit of the whole thing… and I feel even more at home and more at peace… not having to hang onto anything… flying. I hope for everyone who has lost someone in their precious world… that you can find them in the sky. @yvonnezima thank you for being a high flying bird and seeing me right beside you. #sober #highonlife #heavenonearth #desertsky

“I wish I could tell you it gets better. But it doesn’t get better. You get better.” – J Rivers Thank you 2024. A year of devotion, committing, and re-committing. A year of faith and heartbreak… and forgiveness. A year of wins, losses, and gifts. A year of deep listening and learning. A year of humility, compassion and maybe for the first time in my life, self-compassion. Thank you all for being here for the twists and turns. Let’s fly into 2025 with angel wings. It’s been amazing to feel the power of family and community this past year @cheshiremoonproductions We’re not meant to do this alone. All Fours @mirandajuly No One Gets to Fall Apart @itsmesarahlabrie Nightbitch @raijoy and most recently The Let Them Theory @melrobbins Here’s to continued freedom, beauty, truth, love, connection, collaboration, and co-creation in the NEW YEAR! My 7 year old daughter summed it up best for me yesterday: “It’s like when you’re skiing, when you are already on the mountain, and it’s really steep and icy, even if you are scared and tired, you just have to be confident and know you’ll make it down, because you have to… and then it’s fun.”

TONIGHT! Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror! @cheshiremoonproductions & @blkbrdfilms co-host The Film & Music Salon @petitermitagehotel 7pm – 10pm with @darbygaellehannon 😱 Being that it’s Halloween week and MY BIRTHDAY we are thrilled to present this horror classic remade by Director David Lee Fisher starring the legendary @actordougjones and yours truly. The talent and playful spirit that went into this film is so dear to me. The opportunity came to Doug and I at the end of our long run together on Falling Skies. It was Doug who pitched me to David to take on the role of “Ellen” and enter into a world I have literally only ever dreamed of. Part of the magic behind NOSFERATU: A Symphony Of Horror is how every scene digitally mixes us new actors and dialogue with the backdrops of the same scene from the original silent film. We performed in front of a green screen, and were lit to match the same set Max Schrek played on in 1922. The film also stars @emrhyscooper @msjoelyfisher @jaxonturner and Edgar Alan Poe. The stunning hair and make up was designed by @momeinhart and the unique cinematography is thanks to @christopherjonduddy. If you are in Los Angeles tonight, please join us on the Cynthia St. Petit Ermitage rooftop patio to celebrate the release of Nosferatu!

Every scene digitally mixed the new actors and dialogue with the backdrops of the scenes from the original silent film. This book… this woman… my friend… @itsmesarahlabrie… your story… your friends… your family… Everyone needs to read Sarah LaBrie’s memoir ‘No One Gets To Fall Apart’. It’s life affirming. Her style is intimate and accessible but sprinkled with poetry and genius moments of revelation and heartbreak… Earlier this week I got to host a sharing circle for Sarah and her closest girlfriends which is something I have been doing @cheshiremoonproductions. We sipped cacao offered by Meredith @palmacolectiva and activated our awareness of our capacity to heal and radiate light through the broken pieces of our life. Sarah asked us to connect with our own desire for victory as a way for her to celebrate her own… to generate more wins and better… We were all erupting vicariously in her success and in the freedom she has found on the other side of this incredible accomplishment. Her memoir was just published with @harpercollins and there’s so much more to come. My take away is that we need to celebrate each other more… I’m still buzzing off of her breakthrough. We honored our mothers and our grandmothers and their grandmothers but most importantly ourselves… our freedom and the courage it takes to claim our birthright… no matter what… to choose… something better… there is so much in her book that has needed to be said… her circumstances are profoundly singular but her unapologetic and messy journey toward freedom, joy, self-love, love of dogs, love of life… friendships… her amazing partner @justinlerner… his family… her own… simplicity… safety… there’s something here for anyone who has had to fight through pain and confusion to live in peace and full acceptance and recognition of the gifts we are here to receive and give. Follow @itsmesarahlabrie to see her incredible reviews for yourself @nytimes and everywhere credible… Order her book from a little bookstore you love if you can @skylightbooks @booksoup … or @amazon. After you read it or listen to it, take the time to give her a 5 star rating and personal review. Your support matters so much. When you love something SAY IT. SHOW IT. SHARE IT. We can all spread more joy than we know. Congratulations Sarah!
