Fit over 40!!! I’d love to tell you that for me it’s only about my health but that would be a lie. My health is definitely priority #1 but I do like looking good & feeling good in my own skin. I don’t have 100% confidence and self love every day, but it’s always something I’m working to improve. Being fit over 40 means I have the energy to keep up with my 16 year old son. It means I get to lead by example and inspire others on their health journey. It means I have the endurance to film multiple workouts a day, work long hours, or have a late night with the girls and still bounce back quickly (ok maybe not as quick as when I was in my 20s), but definitely faster than if I wasn’t taking care of myself. Fit & healthy looks different on everyone. My journey isn’t a judgment on anyone else’s, if anything I hope it’s a road map for those looking for some guidance. It’s my favorite day!!! Here’s the deal, my videos aren’t always going to be the most polished or look the most professional despite me being a professional. I’m not a videographer, I’m not an editor & I’m learning to be ok with that. When I post my goal is to show you the things I do on my health and wellness journey. Today was leg day, 30 minutes of giving it my all, everything I’ve got today, at the tail end of a head cold. Was it my strongest day? Nope. Was it my worst day? Nope. Am I proud I got it done? Sure am! Lower Fix from the 21 Day Fix Super Block 4 blocks 2 moves each block 60 seconds of work 20 seconds of rest Repeat each block once And yes I did a variation on the last 2 moves to push myself a little more. Keeping up with Dom on the pickleball court 😅 Just another reason why I workout. He’s fast, powerful and plays to win, just like his mama 😜He did compliment me on my speed & agility today, of course that was after he pegged me with the ball. But in all honesty at almost 45 playing against an athletic 16 year old boy, I’m quite happy with how good my joints feel & how long I can last. Pilates & strength training does a body good!
Today she chose violence and that she is ME! 😂😜 Day 1 of 9 week Control Freak was brutal! It’s been a while since I’ve done a HIIT workout like that. I have no shame in the fact that in crushed me today. My focus hasn’t been high intensity in over 2 years, it’s been strength, flexibility, mobility, control & power with a combination of Pilates and strength training. I’ll absolutely continue my Pilates training but for the next 9 weeks, 9 Week Control Freak will be my main workout program helping me train for the HYROX competition at the end of May. #fitover40 #homeworkouts
