Ladies I know staying fit over 40 isn’t as easy as it used to be for a lot of us. But it’s not impossible. It does require some tweaks to how we go about it. Here’s the hard truth, you’re gonna have to be more diligent, more consistent & more deliberate.
It used to be that as long as I was working out regularly and eating pretty healthy I could stay lean, keep my muscle definition, have all the energy & mental clarity and feel good. At 43 that’s not the case anymore. I have to choose my workouts more carefully. I can’t do as much high intensity, high impact although I do need a little of it. I need more weight training, mobility training & I definitely need my rest days.
As for my food, I focus on my gut & hormone health by I corporatist a lot more plants. At least 30 different plants a week (veggies mostly, some fruit and whole grains), I’m very diligent about keeping added sugar to a minimum, same with alcohol.
For the last 3 months I’ve been doing a combination of reformer & Cadillac Pilates combined with Chisel (The Masters Hammer & Chisel) and following a modified 4 Week Gut Protocol eating plan. And I love throwing in compound movements like this one to work my whole body & being my heart rate up.

🚨 Dessert Alert! 🚨 Summer is here, this is one of my go to, favorite desserts! I know a lot of people will think that this isn’t a dessert because it’s not LOADED with sugar and carbs. But here’s the thing, once you cut way back on added sugars and allow your tastebuds to adjust, and they will, you realize that things like fresh fruit are so sweet, delicious and satisfying. These sauteed peaches 🍑 do have a little added sugar but not so much that it will wreak havoc on you system. You can sub in strawberries, blueberries, apples, pears or even bananas to make this recipe. 😋 1-2 tsp’s of ghee 1 cup fruit of choice 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Cinnamon to taste #healthydessert #guthealth #hormonehealth #goodmoodfood

What a year, what a ride! It’s really fun to go back through the camera roll and see all these special moments. Moments that I probably haven’t stopped to really enjoy or take in as much as I should have or could have. Moments with family, with friends, co-workers, new people & in new places that help you grow into a new version of yourself.
Doms first concert (Bruno Mars in Vegas), a Quinceañera for Marli, a new clothing line with @cleoharper_activewear success club where I was at one of my lowest points with my hormone health, an unplanned ski trip with friends that was just what I needed at the time. The 21 Day Fix Super block, Summit & the announcement of a new cook book, trips to the keys, trips to Dallas, a wedding, a Taylor swift concert, a baby shower that the guest of honor couldn’t make it to but we celebrated her & the baby anyway, birthdays, the completion of my Hormone Health certification, a new puppy, new friends, new business ventures (☺️), leadership, lots of Pilates training and a trip back home. 😰🤪
Yall the work alone has been massive in scope. I don’t always acknowledge how much I’m doing, 2 super blocks, a new nutrition program & a new fitness program(both for hormonal health), a new cook book (4 Week Gut Protocol), and one other little something special.
That’s a lot in one year, I’m taking the time today to be proud of myself, my work, my commitment to grow, learn & teach. I’m taking in all those moments with Dom, family and friends, appreciating each one fully and I’m welcoming all that 2024 has for me. I’m ready for it! BRING IT.

So here’s a few of my favorite moves to work em. Sets & reps depend on your goal. If your goal is to tone, improve muscle endurance, & lose weight go for higher reps, lighter weights. (2-3 sets 15-20 reps). If your goal is strength & muscle building perform more sets, with less reps & heavier weights (3-5 sets, 8-12 reps)
On another note, since today is all about love, how about a little SELF-LOVE. I bet if I asked you to name something you I don’t like about your body you could tell me multiple things very quickly. But what if I ask you to tell me what you do like about yourself or your body? Sooo tell me something in the comments you love about yourself. I’ll go first I love my strength both physically & mentally. I’ve worked hard to build both of those over the years and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
Success leaves clues. If there’s something you want to accomplish, look for someone who’s already done it & follow their road map.

I love fresh produce this time of year! I got so excited at the grocery store seeing all of the bright beautiful colors. What we eat can have a major impact on our hormonal health. A few key things to keep in mind.
Keep the highly processed foods out
Keep the added sugars as low as possible (not naturally occurring sugar like what’s in fruit, added sugar like what’s in baked goods & coffee drinks)
Eat the rainbow 🌈 a variety of plants (fruits, vegetables & whole grains) helps with the health of your gut and provides a variety of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need.
Quality matters, when it comes to protein go for wild caught fish, pasture raised eggs and grass fed & finshed beef as much as possible. No antibiotics or added hormones is also very important.
