Hard 75 Update: Dating
(Day 20)
This feels like a whole new experience.
Last night, I went on another sober date. I wasn’t really in the mood to go; that idiot from last week kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, and I didn’t want to waste an evening. On the way, my thoughts were toying between shall I just order an espresso martini to wake me up and if this guy is no fun, then I’ll make the fun. To, grow the fuck up, do not break your Hard 75 challenge for someone you’ve never met who may not be worth writing off your Saturday for because you’ve got a hangover. If you want to leave after an hour, leave.
The date happened to be great. It lasted four hours. We bar-hopped just as you would if drinking alcohol.
I’ve woken up hangover-free and clear-headed. Normally, I’d spend the morning reflecting on the date conversation and asking myself whether I liked him. Or does Tequila like him?
I honestly can’t express how much more mental clarity I’ve had since reducing sugar, alcohol and binge eating. That trio is lethal.
I’m not saying the Hard 75 rules should be applied all year round, but I’ve found that I have unintentionally built some nice habits since starting it, which I will carry on once I finish.
If you’re attempting the hard 75, at the moment with me or plan to do it next month, my advice would be to do all the things you would normally do because that’s when you are really tested. Still socialise, still Date, go for your Sunday roast and own the decision that you’ve made. Suppose people can’t understand or are trying to sway you away from sticking to a challenge that’s on them, not you. Discipline is sexy, so stick to your goals. 10 days left, people. We got this 💪🏼

Hard 75, Day 26. Today was a mega day. 🥳
The mental benefits have been wild; my energy feels like someone has given me theirs too. I feel so much happier in my mind and body. My sweet cravings have almost disappeared, AND today I trained pain free for the first time since February 🥳.
I have been working with a coach for the last 3 weeks and today we finally had a breakthrough. Feeling good 💫
Hard 75, Day 13 (with alcohol)
I nearly delayed doing this hard 75 challenge because I had two brunches in the diary. 🍸 One of the rules of the Hard 75 is to avoid alcohol.
I didn’t want to delay starting any longer, so I decided to do it anyway and give myself two passes.
The point of the hard 75 is to challenge yourself & by having some rules in place it helps you stay focused. If you are wanting to start the hard 75, don’t forget you can make your own rules up. As long as you feel challenged, it’s a win.
My rules are below:
2 x 45 min workouts per day (one has to be outdoors. Walking is included)
2.5 liters of water per day
Read 10 pages of a non-fiction book every day
No cookies, cakes or crap

If you’ve got knee stuff going on, don’t ignore it-it just gets worse. Get help, get it sorted.
My physio prescribed Hot Pilates. I was like mate, that’s my forte 🥳

Why is warming up so important?
It might seem pretty obvious, but sometimes, when we’re in a rush, we forget that our body needs a bit of a warmup. It’s like starting a car. You don’t just switch on the ignition and hit 60 mph 🫣🤫. Ideally, you have a little chat with your car first. You tell it you’re going to go on a journey. You reverse slowly out of your car parking space, and then eventually when you reach the motorway, you allow her to stretch her legs.
It’s the same with exercise. If you’re about to deadlift 60 kg, you need to inform your muscles what you’re about to do.
Don’t get cocky, it just leads to injury. 10 minutes of warmup before each workout can prevent six months of physiotherapy, and let’s not even mention the 💰 💰💰👀.

HARD 75, DAY 11
It was going so well… 😅
I tend to switch up my lunch, depending on what type of training I’ve done.
Today was strength training, which I find I’m always ravenous afterwards. So, I try to get in as much protein as possible to keep me full. This means in the late afternoon, I’m less likely to snack.
In this dish I had;
2 x eggs
1 x egg white
Tin of tuna
spring onion
Red pepper
Spinach
Light mayo
I blended the spinach and egg together to create a green omelette. As you’ll see by the end presentation isn’t my strong point.
This is an ideal after-training meal.
