In time, I’ve learnt that protecting my energy isn’t selfish… it’s essential. We can’t grow or reach our full potential if we’re being weighed down by people or situations that drain us. Now, I’m more intentional about the energy I allow around me. If it doesn’t feel supportive, if it doesn’t lift me up, I gently let it go. I know it’s sometimes not easy, but I can promise putting yourself first is ALWAYS worth it. I feel so lucky to have the circle I do, but this is also a reflection of the standard I’ve set for myself. Surround yourself with people who bring out your best. Protect your peace, set your boundaries, and remember: it’s OKAY to choose you.

What a privilege it is to have access to a gym that gets busy. What a privilege it is to wake up with sore muscles after a tough workout. What a privilege it is to have to use up food in the fridge before it goes off. What a privilege it is to have to clean a house made dirty by healthy children. What a privilege it to have to juggle friends, family, fitness and work. I love this trend. It’s all about shifting your mindset. Let’s talk about utilising training styles… high-intensity vs. slow and controlled 💪 Both have their strengths and I love to utilise both to keep my workouts interesting. High-Intensity 👉 Think HIIT workouts, fast-paced circuits or intense cardio. These push you to your limits, build endurance, and can even boost your metabolism for hours after. Plus… the post-HIIT endorphin rush is the BEST 🔥 Slow and controlled 👉 Think strength training, pilates, or barre. I love movement that’s controlled because it targets specific muscles and improves form, which is GREAT for reducing injury risk. This style is all about that mind-muscle connection, which will help you gain strength and stability while enhancing mobility. I love the balance between the two! On days when I need a quick energy boost or stress relief, I go high-intensity. When I’m focusing on form, strength, or just want a low-impact day, slow and controlled is my go-to.
