So if you’ve been following along with my stories this week… Jax, Arna and I have all been bedridden with a nasty stomach bug!! 🤢 Honestly has been the worst way to spend the final week of school holidays… so I thought I would re-share this banana muffin recipe Arna made with her Yiayia last holidays, for anyone who is feeling well enough and is looking for something to do with their kids 🤣 They were soooo good that we ate them all within a day!! Ingredients: 1½ cups mashed ripe banana (about 4 bananas) ½ cup (125ml) light-flavoured extra virgin olive oil 3 eggs 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1½ cups (225g) self-raising flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 banana, extra, halved lengthways Method: Step 1: Place the mashed banana in a large bowl. Add the oil, eggs, sugar and vanilla and mix to combine. Step 2: Add the flour and cinnamon and mix until just combine. Step 3: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) Step 4: Lightly grease a 10cm x 20cm (2 litre-capacity) loaf tin and line with non-stick baking paper (or use muffin trays like we did!) Step 5: Pour the banana mixture into the tin and top with the extra banana, cut side up Step 6: Bake for 1 hour or until cooked when tested with a skewer. Allow to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before placing onto a wire rack to cool completely. Slice to serve. Serves 8-10 So good and so easy!! #BananaBread #Muffins #EasyRecipes
To every woman who’s been told what she can’t do or to say goodbye to fitness after motherhood… I’m here to remind you that you are capable of so much more than you think! YOU decide your limits. Don’t let anyone try to scare you or tell you what they think you’re capable of. The only true limits we have are the ones we impose on ourselves. Motherhood isn’t about ‘getting your old body back’… it’s about embracing the journey your body has been through and celebrating all the ways motherhood has made you stronger. For every mum out there who’s been told she can’t, I’m here to remind you that YOU CAN… and you will!!! ❤️
Today is Mental Health Day. To all the women in my community wearing so many hats… I see you and want to let you know YOUR mental health matters. I encourage you to take a moment today to reflect on how you can care for your mind as much as you care for everyone else. I used to think it was up to me to turn my bad days around… but now I know more than anyone that you don’t have to be strong alone!! If I can give any advice today it is to lean on your support network, check on your loved ones and make time for things that fill your cup. Whether it’s resting, sharing, or simply taking a breath… I want you to comment below with one way that you’re going to commit to making your mental health a priority today. ❤️
Why do we, as women, often feel like imposters in rooms we’ve worked so hard to be in? Imposter syndrome loves to creep in and try to tell you that you don’t belong… but let me tell you this, you do!! You didn’t get lucky. You didn’t ‘just happen’ to be in the right place at the right time. You EARNED your success. YOU are the reason you have gotten this far. When we care for ourselves, we set the standard for how we deserve to be treated, and we can show up as our best selves, not exhausted or overloaded… You can’t pour from an empty cup!! Remember, your health and happiness matter. YOU are worth the time, the energy, and the effort. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries to become the best version of YOU.
